A stye (hordeolum) is an acute infection of a gland along your eyelid — it comes on fast, is often painful, and typically looks like a red swollen bump near the lash line. A chalazion is what happens when a stye doesn't fully clear: the gland gets blocked, the contents harden, and you're left with a firm lump that can persist for months. Yes. Lumecca-I IPL is appropriate for patients with skin types Fitzpatrick I–IV. Protective eye shields are used during every IPL session. Patients with skin types Fitzpatrick V–VI receive the RF heat and expression protocol only — which is still highly effective. Dr. Lipe will assess your skin type at your first visit and select the right approach for you.
