How it works

Getting Contact Lenses at Elite Eyecare

Contact lenses aren't one-size-fits-all. A contact lens exam goes beyond your standard eye exam — Dr. Lipe evaluates the fit, curvature, and health of your eyes to make sure your lenses are comfortable and safe to wear long-term. We'll walk you through your options, let you try a pair, and make sure you're confident putting them in and taking them out before you leave.

Dr. Lipe performs a comprehensive contact lens evaluation, including measurements to ensure a proper fit for your eyes

Step 2: Find Your Lens

We'll recommend the best lens type for your prescription and lifestyle, and have you try a pair before you commit.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a separate exam for contact lenses? Yes. A contact lens exam is separate from a standard eye exam. It includes additional measurements to ensure the lenses fit your eyes properly and safely. If you're scheduling for both, just let us know and we'll combine your visits.

Can I get contacts if I have astigmatism? Absolutely. We carry toric lenses from all major brands specifically designed for astigmatism, in both daily and monthly options.

I've never worn contacts before — is that okay? We fit new wearers all the time. Dr. Lipe will walk you through everything, including how to insert and remove your lenses, and you'll leave the office feeling confident.

Can I use my glasses prescription for contacts? No — contact lens prescriptions are different from glasses prescriptions. A contact lens exam is required to get an accurate and safe prescription for contacts.

Do you accept insurance for contact lens exams? Yes, we accept most major vision insurance plans. Contact lens exams and lenses are typically covered under vision benefits. Give us a call and we can help you check your coverage.

How long does a contact lens exam take? Most contact lens exams take about 30 minutes, including the fitting and trial lens portion.
